Why It Matters:

  • A functional, clean toilet is not a luxury—it’s a right.

Project Information

Empowering Rural Girls Through Hygiene and Dignity

The Girls’ Toilet Project at Tisgaon Vidyalay represents more than just infrastructure—it symbolizes dignity, safety, and equal opportunity. For many young girls in rural India, the absence of clean sanitation leads to absenteeism, health risks, and even school dropouts. By completing this facility, we ensure that 150 girls can attend school confidently and without hesitation.

Supporting SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation

This initiative aligns directly with Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), ensuring every child, especially girls, has access to safe and hygienic facilities. The design includes proper ventilation, durable tiling, water pipeline, and an overhead tank, ensuring sustainability and long-term usability. Through this project, Satyashodhak Mahila Vikas Mandal (satyashodhak.org) continues its mission of transforming rural education environments with dignity and cleanliness.

Education, Attendance, and Confidence

A hygienic toilet facility is not just about health—it’s about confidence and continuity in education. With access to clean sanitation, girls are more likely to attend classes regularly, participate actively, and pursue their ambitions without barriers. Hygiene and privacy directly contribute to improved learning outcomes and emotional well-being, especially during adolescence.

Sustainability and Long-Term Impact

Built with cement bricks and eco-efficient design, this project ensures durability and minimal maintenance cost.
